This project is a collaboration between West of England Road Safety Partnership and Bristol Social Marketing Centre at the University of West of England, funded by DfT Road Safety Partnership grant.

The project recruited young male drivers from an area of social deprivation in Bristol. Vehicles were fitted with black box technology to measure changes in driver behaviour following a series of coaching sessions devised and delivered by Bristol Advanced Motorists.

The intervention was designed around social marketing principles. Results showed significant and sustained improvement in driving performance, particularly in relation to factors strongly associated with crash involvement.
