The Enhanced Rider Scheme is a national scheme launched by the Driving Standards Agency in cooperation with the Motorcycle Industry Association. It aims to help riders enhanced their skills through a personalised training plan based on their riding needs.

The scheme is ideal for riders who have recently passed their test, are upgrading to a more powerful motorbike, are returning to biking after a break or want to progress in their riding.

The trainers are DSA approved post test motorcycle trainers and their contact details can be found on the web link below.

The training takes place on 1 to 1 or 2 to 1 trainee to trainer ratio. It starts with an assessment to consider the rider’s skills in key risk areas like filtering, positioning, junctions and overtaking. If the riding is assessed as satisfactory the rider is given a DSA Certificate of Achievement. If the rider’s skills need improvement the trainer prepares a personalised plan that focuses on the areas of riding that need attention. The sessions are guaranteed to be realistic but challenging, focused but enjoyable with identifiable results.

The scheme’s promotional materials consist of:
• A two page A5 leaflet designed for riders giving information about the scheme, the benefits, how it works and where to find the nearest post test motorcycle trainer
• An A4 poster for promoting the scheme
• And a web banner.

These materials can be downloaded (below) to be printed by motorcycle trainers and road safety professionals. The back of the A5 leaflet has space for printing or attaching their contact details.
