First Aid For Riders is a motorcycle initiative based in Northern Ireland which delivers first aid training courses to motorcyclists.

The courses are run in association with St John Ambulance (NI) and with a grant from the DOE Road Safety Grants, administrated by the Community Transport Association.

Rendering first aid to a motorcyclist involves many additional considerations that may not be instructed in basic first aid courses. For example, a motorcyclist may be wearing heavy leathers, armour and a helmet, which means that delivering essential lifesaving first aid can be more life critical.

First Aid For Riders believes that first aid courses for motorcyclists will be beneficial not just for riders but also for other road crash casualties, by giving casualties necessary basic life support or, if not directly involved in rendering first aid, to be able to comfort/reassure conscious casualties and to help in giving confidence to stay calm at a crash scene until the rescue services arrive.
