Driving for Better Business (in York)

The Driving for Better Business campaign was launched in York to target small and corporate business in an effort to make them aware of the importance of having a corporate driving policy for employees.

Businesses were targeted in two ways.

First, a driving for better business pack was posted to every business in York. The pack was designed to be eye catching and to provide useful legal information regarding corporate manslaughter and the responsibilities of the employer and the employee.

Along with the pack the Road Safety Team ran two successful business breakfasts. Businesses were invited to short presentations on the subject of driving policies.

As a direct result of the pack and business breakfasts, those responsible for City of York Council’s driving policy amended and updated the document, resulting in City of York Council being made RoadSafe Driving Champions.
