FREE, multi award-winning online software for young drivers/passengers and their schools/colleges/youth groups..
Endorsed by Road Safety GB, Roadsafe, the Sussex Safer Roads Partnership, the PSHE Association and the MIB. Drive iQ is also used by Surrey FRS to support their Safe Drive Stay Alive programme.
Drive iQ has been featured on: Sky News, Channel 4 News, ITV Daybreak, BBC Radio 4 and written about in The Saturday Telegraph and Mail on Sunday. (All media can be viewed at www.driveiq.co.uk).
This FREE resource enables schools/colleges to introduce learning to drive (and the responsibilities and risks involved) to their Year 11-13 students.
Drive iQ is an evidence-based, online education platform for pre-learner, learner and young drivers. By putting them through potentially hazardous road scenarios in a virtual environment it accelerates frontal lobe maturation and improves the skills often neglected by young drivers, such as anticipating danger, risk management, considering emotional response and being a responsible passenger.
The 6 modules: Eye Scanning, Distraction, Anatomy of a Crash, Perception, Seatbelts and Cycling, all aim to help with: driving awareness, improving observations, coping with distractions and avoiding crashes. Each module is accompanied by Facilitator Workshops so the topic can be discussed peer-to-peer in a classroom/youth group.
This innovative solution won a Prince Michael International Road Safety Award in 2011 and was highly commended by BETT in January 2013.
Drive iQ also publishes a guide for parents “Is your child learning to drive? Everything you will need and want to know.” The guide is distributed by the schools/colleges supporting Drive iQ. It can be downloaded for free at www.driveiq.co.uk.
