A DfT Partnership Grant funded project that delivered a joint programme of life skills and road safety interventions to young people not in education, employment or training (NEET) from a deprived area of Sheffield.
The Drive for Life project focussed on improving young drivers’ attitudes to driving and risk taking.
The main objectives of the programme were to:
• Improve young peoples’ attitude to risk taking and law breaking with regard to driving.
• Improve partnership working between agencies that work with young people, road safety professionals and the emergency services.
• Support and encourage young people to move into employment, education or training.
