To help more learner motorcyclists achieve their dream of riding safely on the open road, new editions of the official Driving Standards Agency (DSA) best-selling titles for motorcyclists are being published by TSO, the official publishers for DSA.
One of the most significant steps for many people hoping to qualify for their motorcycle or moped licence is passing their theory test, and to help them get the best preparation for their test, the official DSA theory test books and software have been updated to include new features.
Written by the very people who set the tests, every theory test question that learner riders could possibly be asked until September 2011 is included within The Official DSA Theory Test for Motorcyclists (ISBN 9780115531279).
In order to aid learners’ understanding of riding theory and provide a more comprehensive learning experience, references from every question to the source material (The Official Highway Code, Know Your Traffic Signs and The Official DSA Guide to Riding – the essential skills) have been added, enabling riders to relate theory test questions to the background information.
DSA strongly recommends that all riders study these source books, not only to prepare themselves for their theory and practical riding tests, but to become a safe rider for life. The book provides the full DSA explanations of each answer and practice for case studies has also been extended to include a sample case study for each topic.
The Official DSA Theory Test for Motorcyclists is also available as an interactive CD-ROM (ISBN 9780115531293, £12.99). This software provides candidates with the closest experience to the real multiple choice part of the test.
As well as featuring all the questions learner motorcyclists could possibly be asked until September 2011, the DSA explanation of the answers, new references to the source material and practice for case studies, this CD-ROM also includes a full digital version of The Official Highway Code.
Candidates can sit mock tests and their results are then analysed to identify areas where they need more work, making it easy for learners to be confident that they are ready to take their test. There is also a helpful voice-over option for those with dyslexia and/or reading difficulties.
The Official DSA Theory Test for Motorcyclists CD-ROM is also available with Better Biking: the Official DSA Training Aid DVD as part of The Official DSA Biker Pack (ISBN 9780115531316). This pack not only offers full preparation for the multiple choice part of the theory test, but also provides expert advice on sharpening riding skills and post-test training to ensure new motorcyclists stay safe on the road.
Better Biking includes trainer analysis on key skills such as bends, junctions and roundabouts, tests hazard awareness skills and provides preparation for the Enhanced Rider Scheme, for those motorcyclists wishing to develop their skills further. At just £19.99, this pack offers a saving of £3.99 on the individual prices of these two titles.
Coming soon, the contents of The Official DSA Theory Test for Motorcyclists will be made available for the first time as a fully interactive download. Perfect for those candidates who want to begin revising straight away on their Windows PC or laptop from the comfort of their own home.
