Real Riders in Cornwall

Organisation: Cornwall Council
Date uploaded: 23rd September 2010
Date published/launched: August 2010

This motorcycle awareness-raising campaign was inspired by feedback from Cornwall Council's motorcyclist consultation group, and focuses on motorcycle collision clusters.

The print materials being used on billboards, petrol pump nozzles, and bus shelters feature the faces of real riders photographed at the regular Tuesday night meet at Hayle in Cornwall.

Seven images were chosen to reflect the diversity of the riding community, and the riders’ real names and home towns are used in the text to underline the local relevance of the message.

John Macneill, project co-ordinator, said: “As a rider myself it’s great to have been able to run a campaign which personalises motorcyclists”.

The campaign is running until the end of the first week in October 2010.
