This app, which aims to support children aged 7-9 years to identify safe road crossing sites, was developed by Dr Catherine Purcell from Cardiff University.

The free game (which was funded by the Road Safety Trust) was co-designed by primary school aged children in Newport (Wales) as a fun and interactive tool that can be used in conjunction with existing road safety educational practices.

The app immerses the user in a virtual environment where they are required to complete a series of quests that require them to cross roads in order to navigate around a city.

The project team drew on previous academic research on the way children learn about road safety to produce a game for 7-9 year-olds using the latest available technology.

The App can be downloaded from the App Store free of charge (link below).
