RoSPA was commissioned by Public Health England to produce this guide, which aims to help schools promote safe active travel for children, and keep children safe on the roads when travelling to and from school.
The guide provides advice and information for teaching staff, parents and carers highlighting the importance of supporting effective road safety education as well as sharing steps that some schools have taken to promote safe active travel.
It presents a snapshot of data highlighting key messages of relevance to schools; signposts a range of resources that are available to support effective road safety education across key stages 1-4; and shares insights from local practice by outlining steps that some schools have taken to promote safe active travel.
