This guide for road safety professionals is designed to demystify Public Health statutory responsibilities and, importantly in times of reducing road safety budgets, highlight potential funding opportunities.

The guide, which has been produced with support from the DfT, has been published on the RoSPA website. It explains the current Public Health framework, highlights key funding opportunities which road safety professionals can access through a Joint Strategic Needs Assessment (JSNA), and explains how to prepare a road safety submission for inclusion in a JSNA.

This guide follows on from a previous RoSPA study which found that, in 2013/14, only half of JSNAs included a road safety element, and many of these were only included within another section of the document.
