This calendar shows road safety communications activity planned by THINK! and Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO) for delivery during 2013/14. It is provided to enable road safety professionals to coordinate local communications activity with national campaigns as well as with regional partners.

Key dates include

THINK! biker motorcycling campaign (April-May) consisting of:
• Advertising targeting drivers with the “take longer to look for bikers” message.
• Communications materials with defensive riding messaging for motorcyclists will be distributed via partners.

THINK! drink drive campaign (June-Aug and December) consisting of:
• Advertising (June-August) targeting young, male drivers aged 17-29 with key messages around the personal consequences of a drink drive conviction. PR activity will be used in the build up to Christmas.
• All campaign activity is planned to coincide with ACPO’s drink and drug driving enforcement campaign.

THINK! child and teen road safety portal launch (May)
• All THINK! road safety educational materials will be housed on one, central, online portal. These resources will be promoted to teachers and road safety professionals through stakeholder channels to encourage greater use of THINK! materials.

THINK! survey (Sept TBC):
• Survey of all adults aged 15+ (2/3rds at least are drivers), looking at attitudes and behaviours towards road safety and the THINK! brand.

Drug drive strategic research (Oct TBC):
• Research of attitudes and behaviours towards drug driving to inform development of a communications campaign to support new legislation in summer 2014.
