Casualty data is used to help set our priorities in terms of Local Safety Schemes and education, training and publicity campaigns. The team also undertakes road safety audits at the different stages of all the Council’s highways schemes.
Rotherham is lead authority for the road safety theme in the South Yorkshire Local Transport Plan and is a member of the South Yorkshire Casualty Reduction Partnership, which has overall responsibility to co-ordinate and report on efforts to reduce casualties on roads in South Yorkshire.
