Transport for Quality of Life undertakes projects including:
• Research into sustainable transport solutions: to identify ground-breaking best practice; to monitor and evaluate the effects of new policy interventions, and to develop further policy options.
• Analysis and advice to ensure that land-use planning policies deliver developments with sustainable patterns of travel.
• Professional training on sustainable transport best practice, monitoring and evaluation (workshop with MSc/Prof.Dip. students pictured).
• Preparation of national best practice guidance on all aspects of sustainable transport, including smarter choices, travel planning and rural transport.
• Research into the social and environmental effects of transport.
• Development of Smarter Choice Programmes to change travel behaviour.
• Development of travel plans for workplaces, residential developments and visitor attractions.
• Promotional and information campaigns to encourage more people to use public transport.
