Road Safety Analysis Ltd is a not-for-profit company, set up to run MAST Online. Any surplus will be re-invested in development of MAST Online or other similar products which serve the interests of road safety.
The Department for Transport and the Thames Valley Safer Roads Partnership, as original sponsors of the MAST Project, agreed to transfer MAST Online and other project assets to RSA as from April 2010.
The company directors are the original project team, who will ensure that opportunities created by the MAST Project will continue to benefit road safety in the future. Each director will work for the company on a part time basis.
Company aims
• Provide road safety practitioners across the country with accessible and effective tools for analysing crash information and incorporating market analysis techniques into intervention planning and delivery.
• Facilitate the exchange of information, good practice and effective techniques in intervention planning and delivery across a wide a range of relevant agencies.
• Encourage more widespread utilisation of valuable and well established market analysis methodologies among the professional road safety community.
Company objectives
• Maximise the casualty reduction benefits of road safety interventions, through provision of high quality intelligence and accurate targeting on groups who are most at risk.
• Promote efficient and targeted use of road safety ETP resources, and so prevent wastage of funds and effort.
• Advance the integration of road safety education, both between existing practitioners and with providers and agencies concerned with other social agendas.
