Stockton on Tees Borough Council

Stockton Council’s Road Safety Team provides a wide range of services and advice to reduce casualties on our roads, including:

• Cycle Training – we have a team of professional instructors to deliver Bikeability (National Standard) cycle training to Year 5 and 6 school pupils. Adult cyclist training and refresher courses are also available, for both individuals and businesses.

• Guided Cycle Rides – A program of public rides annually from Spring to Autumn to promote use of the cycle routes in the Borough, and give less-frequent cyclists the confidence to get out and about on two wheels.

• Pedestrian Training – for Year 3 and 4 school children. Practical training, in support of School Travel Plans.

• Motor Cycle Training – Cleveland Motorcycle Training scheme delivers CBT, Direct Access, and pre-Test courses at sites in Billingham, Eaglescliffe, Hartlepool and Middlesbrough.

• Driver Training – safer and fuel-efficient driver training for individuals and businesses.

• In-car safety – advice and free safety checks on the buying, fitting & use of child car seats.

• Occupational Road Risk – advice and guidance to businesses and organisations on reducing the risks associated with workplace driving.
