The Road Safety Team provides publicity, training and education for people who live and work in Newcastle. The team has a flexible approach to delivering road safety information and training.

Programmes and initiatives are designed to promote good road safety practice and reduce road traffic accidents. We have close partnerships with schools, fire service, police and other road safety organisations.

A variety of events and activities run throughout the year including:
• Early Years Road Safety Training,
• WalkSmart! and Walking Initiatives,

Further support is provided by the city’s School Crossing Patrol Officers who assist at busy roads near schools.
