Road crashes kill over 3000 people in the UK each year and around 30,000 are seriously injured.
In Hull the situation has greatly improved over the last decade with the overall number of injuries down by almost one third and the number killed or seriously injured halved.
Speed is the biggest single factor in crashes, even in cities, but drink and drugs are also major causes.
We all have a responsibility to make the roads safer – as drivers, motorcyclists, cyclists, pedestrians or passengers … we can all do our bit to save lives.
