Highways Agency – Area 12 & 14

The Highways Agency is the network operator responsible for managing, maintaining and improving the motorway and trunk road network in England. We are committed to continuous improvement and have made significant changes to the way we maintain the network.

Area 12 comprises approximately 326 miles (525 kilometres) of motorway and trunk roads and over 1300 structures (such as bridges and gantries) throughout Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire.

Area 14 is comprised of the motorways and trunk roads in Northumberland, Tyne & Wear, Tees Valley, Durham and North Yorkshire.
