The Cumbria Road Safety Partnership undertakes a range of activities that have the common aim of reducing road casualties including:
• The use of safety camera vans
• Police enforcement operations
• Identification and implementation of local engineering safety schemes and appropriate speed limits
• Education and training/engagement
• Community engagement
• Communications
Evidence reflects common sense in that the groups frequently disproportionately represented amongst road casualties are young drivers (younger than 25), older drivers (older than 60) and motorcyclists and for this reason the CRSP biases its limited resources with activities targeted at these groups.
