We have a ramp and model car that we use for demonstrating using seat belts that is damaged and in need of replacement or repair. The company that supplied this resource no longer makes them. We’d like to hear from anyone who has this resource but no longer uses it, and would be happy to pass it on or sell it to us. Or if anyone knows of another company that can provide a replacement.

The Dimms family – great to see others using it as well. I’ve had same problem with the frame splitting at the end where it is hit each time. We’ve re-inforced it with pop rivets on angle brackets and adhesive. We couldn’t find a supplier or repairer. Also had to stitch up the Dimms dummies and refill with rice. I have a risk assessment and on balance think it is a worthwhile risk given it’s effectiveness for a few events.

But it works – still get people as late teenagers coming up when I do college events remembering sessions I did at family events when they were 5-7 or so. Positively…. and selling the message to their mates.

    Hi Debby,

The Road Safety team at Durham County Council have a new – hardly used ramp, dimm family, car and even a catapult that we would be willing to give you. Let me know exactly what you require, we would be happy to help. I worked with the Forge House Group in Darlington to develop the resource so its lovely that its still being used.

    Thanks
    Alison

We have two of these but we still use them regularly. Are they really called the Dimms Family? I assume this is a name from long ago. How old even are these ramp sets? I didn’t realise other people had them.
