Morning,
Happy New Year.
I’m just after a bit of information sharing specifically around Adult Cycle Confidence Sessions.
We manage this scheme working in partnership with our local county council and this is our first year looking after this work. I’m curious if any others on this forum also operate this or a similar scheme, as I would love to compare notes on how you operate it.
To give a bit more context:
The scheme offers adults who live or work in Devon a free, 1-2 hour cycle confidence session. Whether they are a first-time rider, looking to build confidence to cycle in the dark, or a regular cyclist looking to improve your skills, the free training sessions are for up to 3 people and can be tailored to suit all abilities and goals.
If you run or are part of a similar scheme, please can you give me a shout. I’d love to have a virtual cuppa with you. ?

I would also be interested in joining your virtual coffee meeting. At Surrey County Council, we are investigating how to deliver adult refresher courses following a long pause through covid. We used to deliver them on a 121 basis, but found that impractical and expensive. We are trialing a course with the University of the 3rd Age soon and are in the process of writing a plan for the year ahead.
Many thanks

I would be interested in joining your virtual meeting with Liz. We have some funding to deliver adult cycle training which were 1:1 sessions (like Surrey) and people wouldn’t turn up without letting the instructors know (obviously frustrating for the staff).
