The transport policy team’s primary responsibility is to prepare and oversee the delivery of the Local Transport Plan.
Every local authority has an obligation to produce a Local Transport Plan for the area the authority covers. Our current third Local Transport Plan contains the policies and strategies for local transport, and sets out the ways in which we will tackle the transport issues in the East Riding.
The East Riding of Yorkshire Council website provides advice on the following road safety issues:
• Controlled parking zones
• Drainage and flooding
• List of streets maintained by the council
• Maintenance of roads and pavements
• Road and footpath salting routes
• Roadworks
• Signs, lines and advertising
• Snow clearing/ploughing
• Street lighting
• Traffic signals
