The Good Egg Guide to Cycling for Families is endorsed by Road Safety GB and CTC and offers tips and advice about how to buy, ride and stay safer when cycling. It is designed to help parents to teach their children to cycle safely.
The Guide says that cycling is the ultimate family activity which is healthy, fun, encourages children to be more independent and helps to teach good road sense. The Guide also says that cycling 20 miles a week reduces the risk of heart disease by more than 50% but that some parents and carers may be deterred from cycling for reasons of safety.
