Charging for cycle training courses for schools and adults

We are looking at charging for courses. Do you charge, if so what is your charge. We also run free adult Bikeability courses at the moment but we have a lot of no shows and we want to charge a non refundable deposit, does anyone have a similar scheme, if so what do you charge? Do you have terms and conditions that you would be willing to share?

With regards to adult cycling, we too operate a free training course and the concern that people wouldn't value a 'free' service weighed heavily on our minds.
We got around this by charging 5 to book a course (our provider can do this online for us) which is refunded after they have completed the course. If they inform us beforehand we can exchange the days but a straight no show looses the deposit.
From memory I think we are in single figures for the time we have taken the 5 and that is over 3 years

Cardiff Council charge an admin fee for the cycle training courses during the holidays as we were getting lots of parents booking but not showing up .
we only charge 10 and the National Standards course is for 4 days at 2 hrs per day.
we do not charge for our adult courses and have not experienced many no shows.

South Gloucestershire Council do not charge for cycle training for children or adults. The majority of cycle training for children is run through schools during school time and the adult training is booked using an online tool. So far this year we have trained 27 adults admittedly not a huge number but all have showed. An instructor will contact the adult trainee beforehand and have a discussion with them beforehand.

Hi there, we charge and have charged for cycle training for the best part of 15+ years. We use a set up that mixes both grant funding along with school/parent contributions.

Drop me an email. Happy to help if I can.

Hi
We do not charge for the courses we deliver to the schools, but we are charging 10 for adult training.
