Quiet Lanes

We have had a request to introduce a Quiet Lane on a road where we think a lower limit would be more appropriate. Has anyone introduced a Quiet Lane and monitored its impact on traffic speeds and volume?

Quiet Lanes

We have several Rural 40mph Zones with quite a bit of monitoring data and one Quiet Lane currently under trial. Get in touch and we'll tell you how we're getting on.

Quiet Lanes

We introduced one several years since, but are still receiving regular complaints about vehicle speeds / size / rat running etc.
At the end of the day, it is still a Public Highway, and we all know how some drivers will behave, whatever scheme is in place.

Quiet Lanes

Suffolk recently carried out a Quiet Lanes trial on 13 lane. We did before and after monitoring which showed their results were neutral. We support further QL's but would charge the parish council 2,500 per lane for staff costs and posts/signs at each end.
