Belt Upp?!

Have any of you seen this item? I've had a few mum's ask me about it and to be honest I don't really know what to say about it?

Seatbelt Adjuster

I have looked at the manufacturers website and found this information. I will be asking one of our car seat fitting experts to follow this up with Beltupp and TRL to confirm their testing and findings in more detail. We'll let you know what we find out.

Car Seats

I was recently at TRL on car seat training and 'accessories' were discussed. The general view was they have concerns as the addition may impede or actually diminish the safety of a seat quite unintentionally. They had only tested one called 5pointplus. This only includes a velcro cover (not an actual locking mechanism) but stops the cherub from escaping. Although they again said they cannot endorse an accessory.....the body language said it all. It is also worth noting that the Good Egg expert that we had through also sung its praises too!

Belt Upp

There have been many 'add-ons' over the years to enhance seatbelt comfort or geometry and some have been useful others downright dangerous. The caution with this particular device is does the adaption hinder the normal use of the seatbelt during an impact?
Although they show TRL doing the crash test work there is no endorsement from them or anyone else. I wouldn't recommend a device unless it has been independently assessed and tested.
